Hydrant Operating System

We own and operate state-of-the-art hydrant refueling systems at Cochin International Airport.  The advantage of the Hydrant System over the Conventional System is that the pipeline carrying the fuel extends right up to the aircraft parking bays on the apron of an airport. The refueling is carried out by using a dispensing unit, which connects to the hydrant pit, on one end, and to the fueling coupling of the aircraft, on the other end. Since, pressure of the hydrant lines is always maintained by console located inside the AFS, dispensing units (or dispensers) do not require pump to refuel the aircraft. In fact it acts as an interface between the hydrant and aircraft. The major advantage of Hydrant System over the conventional type of AFS is that it has no limitation on fueling capacity and also rate of flow of fueling is very high.

Over the years we have made continuous improvement in our infrastructural development. We have now taken up a project for automation of tank by introducing the Servo Level Gauge Type Sensors. The advantage of this advanced system, over the existing one, is that it will provide the online data to the Console Room Officer to enable him to control the static facilities operations. It will also introduce the facility to provide History Sheets of each tank, pump, filters PD & DG Sets.
